About Me

I am Mickey Chandler. I am a long time spam fighter with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from Angelo State University, a certificate of completion from the Legal Assistant Program of the University of Texas at Austin, and a Masters of Science in Computer Information Systems from Tarleton State University, Central Texas.

I got into technical work after becoming annoyed with junk email ("spam"). Instead of just deleting it, I learned how to find out where the spam really came from, participated in the news.admin.net-abuse.email USENET group and eventually co-founded the Forum for Responsible and Ethical Email. My voluntary, self-trained spam-fighting led to a job with Mail Abuse Prevention Systems' Incident Response Service.

In addition to being the President and CEO of Whizardries, Inc., where I do legal consulting for attorneys on Internet issues, I am currently the Director of ISP Relations for Informz, Inc., and a Policy Fellow at the Institute for Spam & Internet Public Policy. I have also been known to do some dabbling in digital photography, as well as network design and administration in Windows or Unix environments. You can read my weblog here.
