ORDER Appointing Federal Defender for AppealIt appears that the government got pretty much what they wanted in this hearing. They said that they wouldn't oppose appointing someone for Rizler's appeal, but that they did oppose selecting Paul Engh due to a conflict of interest, and that they wanted to make certain that he wasn't gaming the system by getting the taxpayers to fund the $20,000 for the transcripts and then retaining a private attorney.
